UncleRuckus Posted May 23, 2006 Share Posted May 23, 2006 I just installed XP pro with SP2 and also installed all the updates. I install half life2 and counter strike soure as well. I fire up HL2 and every time i look at a character on screen i notice tearing. Anyone else with this problem? jgrimes80 Posted May 25, 2006 Share Posted May 25, 2006 I'm not 100% on what's meant by tearing... try messing with the video settings within the game... when I installed battlefield 2 (for kicks and giggles) I found that kicking the display settings down a notch really helped.. I've been running half life 2, and half life 2 episode 1 for the past few days, and i'm having no problems besides low fps.... Darth_Hangover Posted July 20, 2006 Share Posted July 20, 2006 Just use the standard Catalyst Package (which should be version 6.6) for XP. That should work fine or switch to the Omega Drivers (www.omegadrivers.net) which are, last time I checked, based on catalyst 6.5).
