NinjaTails
Does anyone know if there is a driver for the ATi Radeon 9600 (AGP card)? The ATI HD driver included in the iATKOS disk is working choppily, but MUCH better than without a driver at all. I just want to know if there's a way to get some better graphics... Just going to use this Hackintosh to store my music and use it as a backup drive, basically. Nothing major, just would like to be able to type smoothly and not have artifacts left wherever I move my mouse Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/180272-ati-radeon-9600/ Share on other sites

jdwash11
what resolutions do you get? 1024x768 I was able to locate some old driver thats not supported anymore (forget the name now) which gave me a list of resolutions however anytime I selected anything other than 1024x768 my TV screen would go blank (this is on a 720p TV btw). So now I'm back at square one! This is the only thing preventing me from getting rid of Windows on this PC! lunis
Downloaded and installed ATI_9600_C008_AGP.zip from here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=31638 on a iPC 10.5.6. Took long time to install but now can now choose all resolutions. Slice
To have OpenGL and probable QE/CI on cards 9600-9800 you need to replace ATIRadeon9700GLDriver.bundle/Contents/MacOS/ATIRadeon9700GLDriver by ATIRadeonX1000GLDriver.bundle/Contents/MacOS/ATIRadeonX1000GLDriver and rename it to 9700. This need to be done because in Leo ATIRadeon9700GLDriver is PowerPC only while X1000 is true Intel.
