hey i was just wondering i only had one HD on my computer and i split it up into 2 partitions and i just got another HD is there a way for me to delete one of these partitions so i just have 2 HD's and 1 partition on each. I know how to like repartition it into one but this HD has OSX installed on it.

If I understood you correctly, you have a HDD with 2 partitions: one with win and one with osx. And you want that hdd to have only a hfs+ partition on it.

Well, I don't know if there is any app which can resize a hfs+ partition. My advice is to back-up your data from osx partition and delete both partitions, then create only one partition and install osx on that.

search for hirens boot cd..

 

im not sure where to find it.. i got a copy from a friend.

it contains many utilities for partition management.

 

and yes... I am pretty sure that at least one of the utilities can safely resize an hfs/hfs+ partition.

So basically you want to merge those 2 partitions and keep all the data that you have on both of them... Hmm, tricky business.

I stick to my recomandation: back-up the data, delete both partition and format the whole HDD as hfs+.

 

Anyway, see that link Ted Shred provided. Maybe you can find the right tool for what you want to do.
