heylo!

i just did an upgrade from 10.5.2 > 10.5.7 > 10.5.8 using iDeneb's combo installers.

i'm using Qoopz 9.8 kernel which is doing very well thus far.

a quirk has appeared now with regards to the NTFS implementation though.

i have 2 NTFS drives. one appears as strictly NTFS and i can not write to it.

the other appears as NTFS-3G.

i downloaded NTFS-3G and reinstalled it, but to no effect.

how do i fix this?

thanx!

sirdemon

Try checking both disks in Windows via chkdsk DISK letter:/f e.g. run>cmd>chkdsk H:/f .It cold be that drives were not unmounted properly. So checking them for errors may fix the problem.

The disks are correctly unmounted in Windows. Reading is no problem, but there are no write permissions. With Ubuntu I can write on the disks. The problem seems to be 10.5.8

Try changing NTFS-3G options in System Preferences (is should be an icon for NTFS-3G). Mayby it is set to be read only.
