sirdemonbrown
heylo! i just did an upgrade from 10.5.2 > 10.5.7 > 10.5.8 using iDeneb's combo installers. i'm using Qoopz 9.8 kernel which is doing very well thus far. a quirk has appeared now with regards to the NTFS implementation though. i have 2 NTFS drives. one appears as strictly NTFS and i can not write to it. the other appears as NTFS-3G. i downloaded NTFS-3G and reinstalled it, but to no effect. how do i fix this? thanx! sirdemon ZEBRA: Capacity: 222.99 GB Available: 14.54 GB Writable: No File System: NTFS BSD Name: disk1s2 Mount Point: /Volumes/ZEBRA TINY: Capacity: 9.76 GB Available: 2.86 GB Writable: Yes File System: NTFS-3G BSD Name: disk1s5 Mount Point: /Volumes/TINY Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/180186-ntfs-ntfs-3g-in-1058/ Share on other sites

vilpostus
Try checking both disks in Windows via chkdsk DISK letter:/f e.g. run>cmd>chkdsk H:/f .It cold be that drives were not unmounted properly. So checking them for errors may fix the problem. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/180186-ntfs-ntfs-3g-in-1058/#findComment-1249232 Share on other sites

The problem seems to be 10.5.8 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/180186-ntfs-ntfs-3g-in-1058/#findComment-1249267 Share on other sites

donmarten
There is no option for read-only. Checking the disk with chkdsk didnt solve it. There are 3 partitions on the disk, two are writeable, one isnt, thats strange Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/180186-ntfs-ntfs-3g-in-1058/#findComment-1252373 Share on other sites
