I'm using the StageXNU kernel (9.4.0) and want to upgrade from my 10.5.5 to 10.5.6 then to 10.5.7 ect... i would like a Simple Noob way/tutorial on upgrading it. i have tried upgrading it about 11 times now and all have failed. (when it tried to boot, it restarted it's self.) i followed this tutorial: http://insanelymac.blogspot.com/2008/12/up...5x-to-1056.html which is for non-vanila or hacked kernel. i have no idea what the vanila kernel is and if my StageXNU kernel i anything to do with it. so i mite be following the Wrong tutorial, and it mite be this tutorial http://insanelymac.blogspot.com/2008/12/pr...pdating-to.html when following the first Tutorial, i always got stuck at the very last bit when using the OSX86 tool. after i install the update (but NOT reboot) i can't get OSX86 tools up to repair the Permissions and clear the Cache, then i have no choice but to reboot and fail. if i launch OSX86 tools before the update manager, afterwards it crashes and becomes unusable, this is why i think i'm using the wrong tut. it gets me soo mad when i see people on youtube Upgrade sucessfully. i'm only having trouble at the very last bit. please help me. vilpostus Posted August 15, 2009 Share Posted August 15, 2009 Find this iDeneb.Combo.Upgrade.KIT.1057 and use it to update. Works like a charm. Just DO NOT forget to customize you install.
