Hello,

Unfortunately I have a small problem with my new hackintosh. For some odd reason, Maya 2009 (but also 2008) cannot 'see' my primary ethernet card which has to be used for activation. If you would launch the "Autodesk Product Configuration" and select " Show OPA Hardware Identifiers on this computer" , nothing shows up! (my network card should be listed there!)

My network is working fine, I don't have any ' virtual' ethernet cards or whatever... It also shows up under About This Mac --> More Info --> Network as en0 (its the first and only card listed) I already deleted the card from the network, deleted the NetworkInterfaces.plist file and let OSX generate a new one but with no results....

Anyway, I had this older OSX86 installation (10.5.6) lying around on a harddisk, so I plugged it in and there the network card DOES show up in Maya's activation utility!

The only thing I can think of (except blaming OSX10.5.8) is that I had a PCI ethernet card installed which I removed after the first start. But I think its unlikely that that causes the problem (since I already 'cleaned' the network, reinstalled nics etc.)

Anybody else have the same problem with Maya and OSX 10.5.8? If you do, let me know so I can stop fiddling with my network card and its settings...

I think i solved my problem. It worked for me but i am not sure for everyone.

Before 10.5.8 update, i backed up my 10.5.7 working kexts. I simply changed 10.5.8 IONetworkingFamily.kext with 10.5.7 version. It worked like a charm. Now i can start Maya :D
