christina
Well , after the 10.5.8 it takes ages for my computer to boot up. When I boot up , I always get one line of "Still waiting for root device" and after about 5-6 minutes it says "Got boot device blah blah" and then it carries on booting Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/178777-1058-update-slowed-down-boot-up-time/ Share on other sites

bajabronco
I have the same exact problem - slow boot time after the 10.5.8 update, 10.5.6 was snappy as hell, but 10.5.8 sits on the blue screen for awhile before anything comes up. erht
How do you "set the drivers to ACHI MODE" ??? Thanks for your time. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/178777-1058-update-slowed-down-boot-up-time/#findComment-1225613 Share on other sites
Beerkex'd
Not drivers, drives. Well technically it's the drive controller, not the drive but whatever. In the BIOS under SATA settings. oracle100
Ok, setting it to the AHCI mode in bios fixed the problem, but now my Vista won't boot. I get a BSOD. Any ideas?
