  1. Hey! thanks for you time. I just manage to install SL (not server version) with the Hazard DVD. I Use a "Legacy Kernel" And the trick of the "AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext+IOATAFamily.kext" AND "VIAATA.kext/SuperVIAATA.kext" helped me out. Got to get my VIA Rhine NIC working and My Linksys WMP300N working. Just having some issues with the USB and the GFX card. For the card I've found no solutions still. I'm gona keep posting. Maybe this helps some one. Peace Dude Hey, thanks. I manage to install it using the "Hazard" DVD version. Just got the SL running still figuring out if I can get the Server version running. I'll keep posting work progress.
  2. Hey dude! Thanks for the interest. Well here the info I can remeber/discover of my hard ware: Syntax Motherboard (old one) P4SVM266A VIA P4M266A NorthBridge VT8235 Southbridge S3 Savage4 Graphics Accelerator on Main Board / GeForce FX5200 on AGP 4x Slot Pentium 4 / 2.66 Ghz / HT (Hyper threading) And a IDE Hitachi 80GB HD Issues I understand are: P4 support / IDE Drive / GeForce FX 5200 Im using "myHack Installer 1.0". But, just a minut a go I tried the "Snow_Leopard_Client_Server_10.6.2_SSE2_SSE3_Intel_AMD_by_Hazard.iso" I get to run the installer but on boot from HD I get the same black screen. On the "my hack" config I've tried the "Chocolat Kernel" and always including the: AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext also tried with both "GraphicsEnbler/Disbler" an with and without my GfxCard (and still get the black screen) the thing is I dont get an ERROR or kernel PANIC :/ On the "Hazard" I use the "Legacy" kernel and the NVinject/AppleIntelPIIXATA Kexts Im still on trial & error with this "Hazard" DVD. I'll appreciate any ideas.
  3. Im currently trying to install SL Server on my desktop (It's a syntax motherboard) i've detach the gfx card and just stayd with the motherboard and 80 GB hard drive. I've done the process of installing SL and iDeneb Leopard on a XPS 1530, so i've been through the process. Here is what happens, I've restore a "Mac OS X Server Install Disc" on a 80 GB IDE laptop drive and use it on a external case as USB drive, I've run the "myHack" utility and succesfully install it. I've set my motherboard to boot with USB HDD, etc. The "myHack" starts it loads all extensions on verbose mode. This is the last screen before i get stucked on a Black Screen. http://dynamicartworks.com/sls/lastScreen.jpg I tried using the iDeneb 10.5.8 for the desktop I get to "install it" but would get stuck on a black screen after all files are copied. Sounds like gfx issue but I've detach my "nV FX5200" and now im just using the motherboard integrated. Any ideas, solutions, tests to check where can I found the problem. Thanks for your time.
  4. [GUIDE] Leopard on an XPS 1330/1530

Works like a charm. Thanks. For Nvidia 8600M GT Users. I have removed my DSDT.aml and use this kext. This kext has the NVCAP value edited for Dual Display. (Snow leopard) Hey dude, thanks for spending some time for merging this. Currently I've have remove the DSDT and installed an NVject in compensation for the GFX card and edited the NVCAP for Dual Monitor (VGA output / 8600M GT) And it seems the USB ports work every time I boot. No usb or GFX kernel Panics but some random ones, think is CPU issue. Ill give this a try and post results. (hope thers no conflict with the NVject). Cheers NVinject.kext.zip

There is already a post on this same thread. From Brett. Its the insatall guide. (still some tweaks missing)

Dude can you post the file " I have another file which you can try to use in conjunction with it to get native speedstep on snow leopard". I would like to try.
  7. [GUIDE] Leopard on an XPS 1330/1530

What I did is to boot from my old leopard os instead of terminal. Maybe Ubunto can help u do that. Just make sure to do the "-s" step to ensure permissions. By the way I installed snow launching /Volumes/{device name install dvd}/System/Installation/Packages/OSInstall.mpkg from my old OSX. That way no rebooting and no USB boot config.

Hope this is the Script. /* Beginning #!/bin/sh chown 0:0 / chown -R 0:0 /System/Library/Extensions/ kextcache -v 1 -t -m /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/Extensions.mkext /System/Library/Extensions kextcache -v 1 -t -m /Extra/Extensions.mkext /Extra/Extensions */ End Ill giveit a try. By the way if this help any one. I've modified "Brett's" DSDT for my CPU (T7250). Its Still on observation. At least I have kernel panics do to other stuff not cpu load. Use at your own risk: By the way if this help any one. I've modified "Brett's" DSDT for my CPU (T7250). Its Still on observation. At least I have kernel panics do to other stuff not cpu load. Dude change Chameleon version. Earlier on this post Brett posted a boot loader find the intalation instruccions "sudo ...". Good for you i'm still struggling trying to tweak my DTST for my CPU. Got a bunch of errors. Fu in' thousands of brackets.
  10. [GUIDE] Leopard on an XPS 1330/1530

I did compare This DSDT you posted, i've found some difference for my "CPU". Looks more stable but still theres a Kernel Panic on "mdworker" you got any ideas? do you have kelnel panic issues?
  11. [GUIDE] Leopard on an XPS 1330/1530

Hey dude, im currently booting Snow thanks to you. I've spent some time extacting the 'ACPI' for my DSDT. Sadly im not as lucky as donkey that has the same CPU you have. I got all these files from 'acpidump' and your DSDT and don't have a clue of how to merge em. Any guide master? Did you ever boot Snow? I tried one DSDT patcher wizard and didn't do the job. Better google someone's stable version. (remove the DSDT.aml file from root - back it up) if it still on kernel panics then aim chameleon versions, I had some trouble with that, there's a boot loader post by Brett that works fine. Cool. Just boot up with that DSDT. Ill spent some time now trying to tweak it for my CPU.
  13. [GUIDE] Leopard on an XPS 1330/1530

Thanks dude, got that going. Booted up Snow once and had a "kernel panic" just touching any icon from the Dock, I think its somthing about "cpu" load that make it crash (maybe video). I have an Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 2.0 GHz 2M L2 Cache - Nvidia 8600MGT (256 MB) and still havent edit the DSDT still studing how to get the PSS tables. But a minute a go my "Once boot Snow" is not booting any more. On verbose mode I can see it loading "extensions/....." twice and then A kernel panic with no "undestandable" reference just Hex stuff. Tried a reinstal on other partition on same drive and wouldn't run the "-s" have the same kernel panic as the "once boot snow". Still strugling. Any Ideas are helpfull. Thanks for your time. You got same CPU as Brett? Mine is kind of different Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 2.0 GHz 2M L2 Cache. Is your Gfx card working? Thanks for your time. Booted again my "once booted snow" somthing to do with the Chameleon I was booting from other drive. Now I cant do somthing that "loads" the cpu cause I get Kernel panic. Think I need a right DSDT file.
  14. Im not pro at this dude, but the diference on "logos" are the Bootloaders (Chameleon). On the power management i hade this error and remove the kext (backup) from "system/library/extension/" but I have "/Extra/AppleCPUPowerManagement.kext" (that i have for my XPS 1530). Try that (not sure if the way to go but the kernel panics refer to that are not apearing any more for me).
  15. [GUIDE] Leopard on an XPS 1330/1530

Ok. Just booted. now having kernel panics by just opening anything from dock. (reading and investigation)
