snargledorf Posted May 19, 2006 Share Posted May 19, 2006 My problem is not that iTunes doesnt run but that when i try to play a song the progress bar just sits there and doesnt move! I have a sse2 pentium 4 1.62gHz with the maxxuss patch. I did the itunes upgrade through the upgrade tool in osx so i have the latest version. Tek_No Posted May 30, 2006 Share Posted May 30, 2006 Try moving all component files out of /Library/QuickTime and after this reinstall QuickTime (7.1)... I lost all sound in iMovie, iDVD, etc... after upgrading QuickTime and installing some additional codecs... node64 Posted June 4, 2006 Share Posted June 4, 2006 i have been experamenting, and even reinstalled fresh a few times and the problem only happens for me if garageband (or logic express) is not open, so i hav just started to open garageband and let it initialise and then hide the new project screen, it uses next to no memory and cpu in this state and allows my audio to work flawless. must be a solution tho! Hmn, maybe I have a solution... I had the same issues after installing Logic. In my case the problem was that Logic tried to use all channels of my onboard soundcard. But osx itself is just stereo, means one out, not five. So the system did not know, wich output it should take, an that gave me some funny results here, like sporadic no-sound, or just system sounds etc. So here is what I did: in programs>utilities> run the Audio-Midi Cnfiguration tool. On the left side in the window, you will see two pulldown menues. The second one is for your audio input/output. Select the pulldown menu entry for your audio output. Then switch to the audo output settings on the bottom right and change it to 2 Channel audio. That worked for me. Thumbs up it will [] for you, too.
