Tim0288
To all the s6410 users who have contacted me, I have decided to write a guide with pictures for 10.5.7. To do this I am going to start mine from scratch and document it. Expect it in a week or two until then try to get hold of ideneb10.5.6 (yes 6 not 7) and an Airport extreme mini pci express card (Approx £20 or under). They will work OOB and have N draft. I know Snow Leo is out soon but this is worth doing, you will learn alot and it will make life with snow leo so much easier. Regards Tim p.s Posted here due to the x3100 being the biggest pain. Tim0288
pretty similar results. in my guide you will be able to update using software update. For wifi buy an apple mini pci. cannot stress this enough. they are dead easy to install and they work OOB plus they're cheap. For brightness control use a dsdt mod. All will be revealed soon. oh and two finger scrolling Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/178148-lifebook-s6410-users/#findComment-1219581 Share on other sites
Eternity
Hi Tim0288, Thanks for the reply, I'm looking forward to your tutorial. I've purchased a BCM9431 card and works like a charm (no driver require in win7 too ). Looks like the Broadcom chip is not as good as 4965agn as the signal is way too poor. For ppl who is going to replace the intel to broadcom wifi card, just connect the black & grey antenna and leave the blue one. kenfu05
follows Eternity's steps and get it works! Thanks. But for Ethernet mod, I found both AppleYukon2.kext and AppleYukon3.kext. I modified the Info.plist file under both. There is a key like '8055-B', I changed its value too. Brightness control does not work. I'm looking forward to Tim0288's tutorial for the dsdt mod. OCORHI
Eternity and Tim0288, Thank you for your information. I have installed the itakos v7 last month. I still got a similar result with you. Is there a smarter way to install the intel X3100 driver. iwidarwin is not working (in my case). instead of buying another wireless card, is any other possible solution of intel 4965 driver. MatrixF
Hey Tim0288 and Eternity, Thank you very much. Your post helped me a lot but I have the graphics problem as many of us s6410 users had. After setting the user account I DID NOT reboot immediately but installed SwitchReX4. I tried to create a 1280x800 resolution customize but the SwitchRex did not show the usual "need to reboot". ("Need to reboot" was shown when I create a custom 1280X768. I have already disabled all the other resolutions. (there are like 20 or 30 of them). Then I reboot and I screwed up my screen (black then getting white with many many lines) I could go into the mac os now but the screen screwed up. I tried to connect to external monitor but only part of the screen was shown so I could not fix the kexts through the external monitor. I know this is a quite late reply to your post but I really hope you could help! I am using iAtkos v7 Thanks!
