Macbook Pro SMC Firmware update

While running this update I searched google and found out what SMC is:

System Management Controller

The 15-inch MacBook Pro uses an advanced system management controller (SMC) to manage thermal and power conditions, while keeping the acoustic noise to a minimum. The SMC is fully independent of the operating system."

I haven't ran mine long enough yet to see if there's a temperature drop, but any feedback is appreciated.

Still got a bit of a whine on mine after installing this update and restarting. I don't know if it does much of anything, and can't really tell if the systems becomes sluggish as a result of the install.

Mine still whines a little too, but the temperature honestly feels like it has dropped by a decent amount.

One interesting thing i noticed:

During update fans are running in full speed, unbelieveable noisy. Looks like this can be kind of calibration or tunning.

There is SMC upddate for iMac too and I don't see any difference on mine.
