I put the dvd in and darwin starts up. I hit f8 and it brings up the boot screen. On that screen it only shows my dvd drive as the hard drive. If I dont hit f8 it brings up system config file'/.com.apple.boot.slist' not found. chevy2410
So when you put the dvd in the drive and boot it and get to the darwin bootloader, you hit F8 and then you should see a flashing cursor. You can then type -v and then hit enter. The dvd should now start booting. You should see a lot of text scrolling for a bit and then eventually you will get to the Leopard install screen. You will need to format your HD and then continue on the section to choose your drivers and such. Hope that helps, Chevy Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/176251-fix-this-and-i-will-pay-cash/#findComment-1207799 Share on other sites

Darwin see's the Mac OS X install dvd, but once it all starts, the gray apple screen arrives and nothing happens at all. When darwin starts booting you have about 8 secs. to choose either F8 or hit any key to start. You need to hit F8 and then at the boot prompt you type -v and then hit enter. You then will see some text scrolling and the install dvd starts booting. BTW what method are you using? What distro dvd? bobbo
the place its getting stuck is when it tries to read the Extensions.mkext located on the dvd. This is where all the temporary drivers are loaded to make the dvd run. If you find which driver its having trouble with, i can give u help on how to replace it, and it should boot to the menu after that Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/176251-fix-this-and-i-will-pay-cash/#findComment-1209180 Share on other sites
