Ok, so I finally got my brand new hackintosh running!! I did so according to Weaksauce's ES2L Guide. Although I'm still having a problem with sound.

Here are the system specs:

OS: OS X 10.5.6 Retail Install

Bootloader: Chameleon 2.0

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L

CPU: Intel Pentium E6300 Wolfdale 2.8GHz

Video Card: GIGABYTE GV-NX72G512E2 GeForce 7200GS 256MB 64-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Video Card

RAM: OCZ SLI-Ready Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 PC2 6400 SDRAM

Hard Drive: Seagate ST3250310AS Barracuda 250gb SATA 7200rpm

I'm using the on-board audio, as it is supposed to be supported without any patches. I used PC Wiz's OSX86 Installer to install all the drivers.

Any ideas why sound isn't working???

Hi

Did you use us the " UInstaller " included in the E2SL package (ES2L_KIT.ZIP) ?

So I did , using the UInstaller

1.Choose Hard Drive to apply to : YOUR DRIVE

2.Select motherboard package to install : G31m_E2SL - Full

3.hook up

Apply kext package

Apply Extensions.mkext

Install PC_EFI v9 Chamelion Edition 1.0.12 - ---Had a lot of trouble with Chameleon2 , KP`s so I used this

Apply Ethernet EFI String ( Time Machine Fix ) ---- TM doesnt work with it !

Apply EFI String for video card - choose yours

finally click install and reboot

I have same system like yours except for 7200GS , I have 7300GS

Works fine for Me , Time Maschine , Sleep ........

Only MIC isnt working ( does with voodooHda , but distrurbs sound after sleep) .

and AUTO Sleep does not work.

hope that helps

regards

Juergen

not an expert but take a look at this link, there are 3 guides posted including weaksauce, ive tried all of them personally and audio works. If weaksauce guide is giving you problem you can try the 2 which used HDAenabler.kext and applezaliaaudio.kext

HTH.. and yes auto/time sleep does not work on 10.5.7. Bummer :D on 10.5.6 yes.

well , Auto Sleep may work with the scipt on this thread ->

Download the Script " PenntNeu.app.zip"

The Script " Reads" the settings from Energy Settings prefPane.

You can set this script to Start Up Objects on your User Account , so it starts with every boot.

I use it since a day or two and no trouble so far

Be sure to download the " PenntNeu.app.zip" , its the latest. The first one did not read the settings by auto

Ok, thanks! I finally got the audio working...I had to reinstall the drivers but it worked fine after that.

One thing I've noticed though, is that Shutdown doesn't work properly. If I tell OSX to shutdown, the operating system will close out properly, but then the system just sits there and the power needs to be manually turned off. Is there any fix for this?

@Mac_dude, were you able to get Time Machine to work? I installed the Time Machine fix that came with Unistaller, and was planning on using it but I haven't tried yet. Does that fix work?

Yes , Time Machine does work great with this Time Machine fix.

I also downloaded this -> http://timesoftware.free.fr/timemachineeditor/

With this Editor you can overide backup times.

I have set it to backup every 6hrs instead of 1hr.

You also can set it to work with calendar for backup.

Enjoy !
