howeasy
I don't want to sound like the guy who just posts on here for help or whatever but if I can get some help I pinky promise to stick around for a while and help out where I can I am running iDeneb 1.4. But I dont think that really matters with my issue(s). Just tell me what information you guys might need and ill be sure to volunteer it. Now time for the list of problems: 1) When I start up Garage Band off of iLife 09 all sounds suddenly go into slow motion and get really low pitched. I dont understand why this would happen but once I start the program all system sounds just go berserk. I dont know what information you'd need to help me assess the problem though. 2) Torrents, I've used uTorrent for like 5 minutes and its slowed the computer down practically to a halt. So I then switched to Xtorrent, which that slows down the computer but not nearly as much. If anyone could recommend a program that isn't so i dunno, demanding, it would be appreciated. Well thats all the real "problems" I have. Next is just a few questions. 1) How come with most applications I wish to install the option to install on my second hard drive is not available? Its formatted correctly and I can read and write data but with some programs it just doesn't want to install. 2) Is there any ways to surefire speed up my system? I use Macpilot and Secrets and it has increased the speed quite and bit. But are there any other ways im not quite aware of? 3) What is the limitation of updating MacOSX86? Am I safe in asssuming that I can apply all updates other than the ones that would make it 10.5._? A-a-and....please don't kill me D: Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/175928-a-few-questions-and-comments-for-the-world/ Share on other sites
Daveta
1) for garageband you have to write your audio hw 2) try adium, but sound like net problem; 3) it's because a lot of apps want to be installed in leo partition (like my pc grrrrr) 4) ....which system? if you don't write nothing.... 5) you can make all updates, also system updates. the first like any original mac (even if you have registrated apps) and the seconds with the combo update guides. search for it. howeasy
Well my only real problem now is the sound decided to take a dump on me. The sounds play but in super slow motion. It takes about 3 seconds to play 1 second of audio because its just going so slowww. The sound continuously plays but just plays as if hes taking his jolly ol' time saying thing. Im using the AC97 PCM audio driver. I have already tried reinstalling the kext's and all that jazz using OSX86Tools with no avail. Its the driver located on this thread on page 4 for SiS 7012: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1331 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/175928-a-few-questions-and-comments-for-the-world/#findComment-1206900 Share on other sites
radekge
For the sound problems try booting with idlehalt=0, if that won't help then look maybe for tscsync patch. Search the forum generally for sound stuttering, I think that's the problem. I don't know why daveta recommended Adium for torrents, it's an instant messanger :-) I would recommend Transmission. Its literally slow motion. It started when I installed iLife '09. I might just try to get rid of it and see if that would do anything (which I wouldn't like to do but may have to) And I'll give your reccomendations a try. Thanks for the tips. Be back shortly!
