ernando
boot with -s fsck -fy if there is a problem fixed, reboot with -s, and fsck -fy until no errors are found. you could give that a try. good luck. quixos, I tried that before on my first attempt of updating, the fsck -fy did its job but give no hope... I think I have the same problem with bigjohnjr... On my 3rd attempt (yeah, I tried to do the update again), before I install using pacifist, first I open Disk Utility and Terminal first, and of course backup my Finder.app again. Then do the thing with pacifist. After the files updated I try to run Repair Permissions on Disk Utility but it gave nothing, no HD spinning. I went to Terminal and type diskutil repairPermissions /, but then came up diskarbitrationd segmentation fault (like I notice before on my 2nd attempt). Giving no hope, I restarted, the the same problem came up like I posted before, diskartibrationd segmentation fault bla bla.... couldn't find root user... Is it because I tried to update using Pacifist ? Cause someone posted about updating through Apple's Software Update then restore Finder.app that previously backed up befpre restart How do you think quixos ?
