First, the specs:

Toshiba Satellite Pro A210-EZ2201

AMD Athlon 64 x2 TK-55 1.8 Ghz Processor

ATI Radeon X1200

Realtek HD Audio

Atheros AR5007EG Wifi

Realtek RTL8101E LAN

I installed iDeneb onto an 80 GB hard drive, and after the install, when it attempted to load past the Darwin bootloader, there's a quick flash of the white Apple screen, and then it instantly reboots. Tried using -v, -x, and both, but still the same issue appeared. So I tried reinstalling it along with some of the customized tools (OSx86 Tools, AMD patches, & ATI patches). This time it'd load to the Apple logo and then a lot of writing would show up across the screen. Tried -v -x and the same writing appeared.

Should I try another form of OSx86 (suggestions please) or is there a utility someone is familiar with that will help me overcome this?

Thanks.

have you tried cpus=1?

usually helps the immediate reboot problem. Any screenshots of the kernel panic you're getting?

for suggestions, on my AMD i ran kalyway distro.... My most recent is iPC 10.5.6, and it has by far been the easiest (for me). might give them a try.

Also, an incorrect kernel will cause this... You need Voodoo kernel 9.5.0 or higher, and you need to select Seatbelt.kext too. NO NEED to select AMD patches, or any patches for that matter.

Thanks for the advice, so I selected the Voodoo kernel 9.5 and the Seatbel Fix from the Customize menu. However, now it loads the white Apple screen, and then it brings up the "anti" sign (circle with a line through it) after a moment of it attempting to load. Tried -v and it gets to saying the Firewire couldn't be confirmed and it's entering full secure mode, then has a message stating "Waiting for root device" and never continues.

Any other suggestions with iDeneb or should I look into using another version, such as the mentioned iPC Universal?

Is it possible to install certain patches/fixes without having to reinstall the OS?

Thanks again.

Update:

I tried iAtkos v7 and it installed successfully, along with the VooDoo kernel, which included the Seabelt.kext fix, and it does the same as iDeneb did. It loads then gives the "anti" sign on the Apple logo. Tried iPC Universal and the CD won't boot at all, it gets to the Apple screen and just sits there, while the CD never spends and the computer never makes any progress. Next up is Kalyway 10.5.2, I'll update with that one.

Kalyway 10.5.2 installed successfully and boots successfully (sort of, read below). I left the kernel at default, added a Network driver, and the AMD test 1 and legacy patches.

Wireless card isn't found, audio is found but doesn't output, video drivers are not found but the screen looks pretty good.

It will only boot with the DVD in the drive, or else I get an HFS+ error. Tried Googling, and others mentioned going into -s single user mode on the installed partition, which I did, then type in these commands:

cd /usr/standalone/i386 (which then takes me to the i386 directory)

./ startupfiletools -v /dev/rdiskXsY boot (I did rdisk0s3 since it's the 3rd partition, but all it says then is "./ is a directory" and I cannot continue)

Any suggestions?
