free30
Try checking the DVD. Is it AMD patched? Try lending him your copy of 10.4.6 install. Free30 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17454-os-x-installation-problems/#findComment-112685 Share on other sites
ZeDz
The installation is AMD patched, and it should work. The only problem is my friend lives in Mexico while I'm in Canada, so it's not that easy for me to send him 10.4.6. Therefore, if someone has any idea what could be causing we'd both be grateful. Mebster
He lives in Mexico and you live in Canada? How on earth did you to ever become friends? I had issues during the actual installation process (while installing) and it turned out that my DVD drive wasn't totally compatible. That may be the case here. I had to change my DVD drive. Have read updating the firmware also work but have never tried that. Good luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17454-os-x-installation-problems/#findComment-113189 Share on other sites

Rammjet
i can move the cursor but i can't click the continue button. You probably tried this, but I found that I had to click twice on the continue button to get it to continue. Mebster
You probably tried this, but I found that I had to click twice on the continue button to get it to continue. Yeah, i noticed that too. I had loading errors near the end of my installation and to resolve it had to change my dvd drive. But reciently i tryed to install Jas 10.4.6 and it would complete installation but then restart (which it shouldn't) and nothing was there. XP only. I finally dowloaded a MyZar version which works fine. So maybe try a different version while you look for an answer to this one. madzie
Just read the specs of your friends machine. It seems he's using a K8M800 chipset, which is VIA. I'm guessing here, but if people are reporting that the Intel 845/865/915/945 chipsets work best, I'd assume the K8M800 support in MAC OSX x86 is minimal. I dont think the VIA IGP is supported at all. When he boots from the DVD, what is the display adaptor information?
