Hey there. Having upgraded my screen and purchased a Mac Mini to use on the old one, I have fallen completely in love with OS X and I also just replaced my PC laptop with a Macbook Pro...

However, I am in a state of distress, I need my main PC for work - an XPS 600 (PIV EE, 2Gb, 2 x 7800 GTX, logitech bluetooth keyboard and mouse) and desperately want to run OS X on it. Before I set upon the huge task of dragging everything off and experimenting with an OS X install (I even tried installing on a USB drive only to find out you can't boot off USB with OS X?) I was wondering if anyone out there can tell me in advance if I'm going to come a cropper and crash and burn in failure?

Words of wisdom respectfully requested!

not to sound harsh, but this is the wrong place to ask questions. Thats what the PC forum is for.

But regarding your XPS, you dont need to get rid of windows in order to try OSX. Try one of the many dual booting options available here.

well the only reason i dont use os x a lot is because i have an nvidia card (no graphics acceleration) so if you are fine with that then carry on :( . my dell is fully supported w/ os x, im not srue about the xps but check it out.
