akisp
I purchased a new 30" Dell that was on sale couldn't pass up. It supports 2560x1600. I have it connected to my Mac G5 ppc dual 2.0 with 4 gigs of ram. I also have the video card specs below. Problem is at full rez 2560x1600 type on screen or in any applications is very tiny. I looked at the 30" Apple at the apple store and that looked normal on screen. I checked all my settings in system settings and Im good to go. Any ideas? eForce 6800 GT Type: Display Bus: AGP Slot: SLOT-1 VRAM (Total): 256 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0045 Revision ID: 0x00a1 ROM Revision: 2120 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/173931-30-dell-monitor-type-is-tiny-on-screen-need-advise/ Share on other sites

westwaerts
for 30" you need a dual dvi graphic card. look in about this mac > more info > graphic > if Core Image + QE is hardware supported Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/173931-30-dell-monitor-type-is-tiny-on-screen-need-advise/#findComment-1195134 Share on other sites
akisp
It does support it. Im using the original Apple video card that was able to support 2 30" monitors. It's just that the type on screen is too small. Very hard to work say in Photoshop, menus too small. crashnburn_in
Which PCIe / PCI Express / PCI X card (s) have driver support for 2560 x 1600 resolution on a Leopard or Snow Leopard? It could be any brand. NVidia, ATI or other. Preferably it can fit an Advanced Dock for T61. As I understand it, I will need a full-height, half-length PCIe video card. Please advise. Thanks.
