ngot
I have a Thinkpad T42p with ATI Mobility FIREGL T2 (Darwin reports it as ATI Radeon 9600). I get mouse tearing when I bootup in normal mode, but no mouse tearing while booting up in safe mode. Anyone know why? In safe mode, everything works perfectly at 1280x1024x32 minus the mouse tearing and sound. I would like to know what extension in normal mode loads which causes this problem. I am running OS X 10.4.6 in native mode. sigxcpu
In safe mode, your card is used in VESA mode. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17387-no-mouse-tearing-in-safe-mode-ati-radeon-9600/#findComment-112309 Share on other sites
ngot
In safe mode, your card is used in VESA mode. Ok, the next question is...how do I force OS X to using the VESA mode? westep23
U could remove your Device ID from ATIRadeon9700.kext, If you do that you won't have QE/CI anymore.
