(UNDER YOUR OWN RISK BUT SOME APPS CAN'T WORK)

WITH THIS YOU CAN INSTALL THE SAFARI 2.0.1 FOR TIGER 10.4.2 IN TIGER 10.4.1 X86

ok guys check this:

1.- enter: "System/Library/Coreservices/systemversion.plist" and open the plist with text edit or terminal, and got to be just like this

<key>ProductBuildVersion</key>

<string>8B1025</string>

<key>ProductCopyright</key>

<string>1983-2005 Apple Computer, Inc.</string>

<key>ProductName</key>

<string>Mac OS X</string>

<key>ProductUserVisibleVersion</key>

<string>10.4.1</string>

<key>ProductVersion</key>

<string>10.4.1</string>

change this <string>10.4.1</string> in "ProductUserVisibleVersion" and "ProductVersion" for <string>10.4.2</string>, then go to utilities in applications foder, and run disk utility, and in repair disk permitions, restart and it's done, your system is ready to be updated and works perfectly the plugins and other stuff that you install

2.- download the safari 2.0.1 from HERE, Install and try the plugins obviosly this version is a ppc version but with the original sse3 rosetta works i don't know if works in sse2 patched but i think yes

sorry for my english.

The update works with only one negitive aspect.... it takes the x86 part of Safari and makes you use Rosseta to run it.And that make it slightly slower,I should have thought about it before i did the update.

Its worth it i guess if the plugins work, and it's cool to have the version updated :D

something got to be wrong i don't have problems with safari or another program, i recommend you to use ONYX its a cleanning and manteinance program with another surprises the best, and remember go to disk repair or utilitie or something in (applications folder) i dont remember and verify disk permissions. that can help you :P

Did you try going back to 10.4.1 by typing it in the systemversion.plist after having installed Safari 2.0.1? Maybe this solves your problems, I don't know, I didn't try it yet, as I didn't try balamandon's trick.

Well back in 10.4.1 doesn't work, its very rare this problem, but well letme see if i can do something for safari

hey letme see if this works, put this plist files inside the Applications/Safari right click on safari icon and then click on the option "Show Package Contents" and replace de plist files with this new onessafari_replaces.zip

Good Luck
