Installed iDeneb 10.5.6 OK, but it won't boot up. It gets so far then just stops and keeps repeating 'Still waiting for root device'.

I have searched, but most people seem to have that problem on install. I've tried removing all USB devices, but nothing solves the problem.

Any help appreciated!

Number one reason for "Not waiting for root device" is when the installer doesn't have drivers for the (P/S)-ATA controller that your DVD drive is attached to.

Numbers two and three are BIOS configuration or a cabling/jumpering issues.

Number four (most rare) is a totally unsupported drive controller.

OK guys, thanks for that.

I've been away for a few days, hence the late reply:

Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R mobo

WD 2 x 500Gb SATA HDDs

4Gb RAM

Intel Q6600 @ 3GHz

NVidia 8800 GTS

Creative X-Fi Extreme Audio

Realtek RTL8168 Ethernet card.

It's not the installation, that seems to go ahead OK, it's when I try to boot into OS X, I get the 'Waiting for root device' error. Then it just hangs.

Any ideas? I'd love to get this running and try it out.

How do I select it? During the install or what?

OK, I went back and noticed the 'customize' bit.

Anyway, PROGRESS! I selected the patch, and the previous error didn't occur. Seemed to be booting up, but then the video just went black - still with HD activity in the background - and then didn't return. It's like the video just switched off.

Is there an option I should be choosing in 'Customize' for that issue?
