I've done a decent amount of reading here the past few days. I just want to double check with the experts (aka you guys) that this will work.

My goals:

Be able to do a vanilla install with as few ktexts as possible

Upgradeable to Snow Leopard

Everything working

Side Questions: Can anyone suggest an internal 3.5 (or 5) card reader that works with OSX that supports MemoryStick Pro Duo (Or MemoryStick Pro)?

Also, does anyone see anywhere I can cut costs without sacrificing too much performance/power savings? (I need the 1.5TBs)

Thank you!

All card readers are NOT the same for OSX-compatibility. Many don't work at all in OSX. In general the quality varies drastically. Ideally, a card reader should list Mac OS compatibility to be sure all of the card-types actually read since these are driverless. Some will work half-assed, (for example:) SD will read fine, but (again for example:) MS won't recognize at all. If you need a specific card type to read, don't just guess if Mac OS support isn't listed.

I've gleaned this from a lot of client builds, and on occasion having to try various card-readers outside of the ones I know work due to non-availability.

This one works great, fully-OSX compatible and is only $10.

This Rosewill reader works great, for $13.

Brands I've tried that did not work in OSX: Super Talent, Logisys, and certain models of BYTECC.

Not so much a cost-cut really, but I notice you can often do better with two 4GB (2x2GB) kits, rather than the packaged 8GB kit. For example, 2 kits of this OCZ DDR2 1066 will run you just about the same price as the 8GB of DDR2 800.
