This may have already been discussed.. but the searches i issued didn't reavel any results..

I've been trying to get fullscreen videos and movies to play back at a decent framerate for a while now.. and i have found a quick way of doing it without having a QE/CI supported graphics card.. i personally have a 6600 which gets detected as VGA-Compatible Controller..

now what you'll need to do is simple..

get yourself the 10.4.6 myzar or jas [in case you don't already have it]

and simply download the DivX Codec: http://download.divx.com/labs/DivX6_Mactel_Beta2fixed.dmg

and the Popwire WMV-9 component [optional]: http://www.popwire.com/product_info.php?cP...1&products_id=7

then just fire up any video or movie in Quick Time.. for fullscreen playback you'll need the PRO version

this has successfully worked for me.. and hopefully it will work for others..

It works fine. Depending on your processor speed, it may get shaky in spots, but it's a far cry better than the freeze stills you get with WMP9. This a great solution until we've figure out how to beat certain nVidia and ATI cards into submission (or OS X Tiger, for that matter) into using Quartz Extreme and CoreImage.
