Brandon H
Hello members of this board! I wanted to first thank you all for the help I have received by browsing these boards. My specs are as follows: Motherboard: GIGABYTE P31-ES3G Processor: Intel® Core2 Duo CPU E7400 @ 2.80 GHz Sound Card: Sound Blaster X-fi Xtreme Audio (I'm not expecting this to work.) Realtek High Definition Audio (ALC888) (Working well) Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT Network Adapters: Realtek RTL8168B/8111B Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0) (working) NETGEAR WG311v3 54Mbps Wireless PCI Adapter (not working) Linksys Wireless-g USB Adapter (WUSB54GC) (working) Now about the installation: I have Windows Vista on a primary hard drive and I used iATKOS v5i (Leopard 10.5.5) to install OSx86 on a second hard drive. The install ran flawlessly. I have but three issues now but there is only one I'm truly concerned about. My real concern is number 1: 1) Upon download completion of most files, a two inch translucent gray band appears at the top of my monitor and everything freezes. This forces a reboot. The freeze occurs when the downloading item says "Mounting image" just before download finalization. If I "Save File As" instead of just a download and run the file will not cause everything to freeze until I try to run it. When I try to run the file, it always freezes at "Mounting". So it must be a mounting issue. I would greatly appreciate some help on this. 2) I would like to get my NETGEAR WG311v3 working. If anyone knows a fix for this please let me know. 3) It seems as though I'm having some trouble with my USB ports. When I hook my iPhone into the computer it will not recognize it in iTunes. Thanks for any help at all! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/171352-leopard-1057-freezes-upon-download-completion/ Share on other sites

I had the same problem and it was caused for a mismatch in the versions of kernel and seatbelt.kext, i have a system running voodoo 9.5.0 so i had to restore a seatbelt.kext of the same version... but with your specs i suppose you're runnig vanilla kernel so there should not be any problems related to mismach versions, that's all I can say, hope it helps!! mac_gb Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/171352-leopard-1057-freezes-upon-download-completion/#findComment-1180821 Share on other sites

Brandon H
UPDATE: I think I fixed the "Mounting" freeze problem by rolling back the seatbelt.kext. I had done that once before and then it was fixed but then I updated to the Combo10.5.7 and it changed the seatbelt.kext again so I had to redo the fix. I am now focusing on the USB port problem. It's obviously not a complete USB problem because my mouse, keyboard, printer, and wireless adapter are all hooked up no problem. The only thing is that I can't hook up my iPhone. It won't even show that it is charging. I looked at my kernel version and saw that it is 9.5.0 and my System.kext is 9.7.0. Could this be the problem? If so, how do I remedy it? Dabluest
Yep. Your System.kext and kernel need to be the same. Inside the Voodoo kernel package is a copy of the 9.5.0 System.kext that you need.
