  1. USB Headset Audio

Have there been any advances made on this subject recently?
  2. Need help enabling QE and CI for 7800gt

    1) Yes, only replace the IOProbeScore with 0 in NVInjectGo.kext. 2) Yes, you only put your NVCAP in NVInjectGo.kext. 3) Replace the following in that Contents.plist that you posted: a) <key>IOPCIMatch</key> <string>0x000010de&0x0000ffff</string> with: <key>IOPCIMatch</key> <string>0x####10de</string> You didn't give me your device ID so just replace #### with whatever comes after 0x in your System Profiler. <key>NVCAP</key> <data> BAAAAAAAAwAMAAAAAAAABwAAAAA= </data> with <key>NVCAP</key> <data> 04000000000003000c0000000000000700000000 </data> c) <key>IOProbeScore</key> <integer>60000</integer> with <key>IOProbeScore</key> <integer>0</integer>
  3. Upgrading Kernels

Okay, I see what you meant now. I have both a laptop hackintosh and a desktop hackintosh now so I'm used to seeing Macbook Pro from my laptop and I wasn't thinking desktop. Thanks for the info on the kernel.
  4. tethering on hackintosh won`t work

I was curious are you guys in the US with ATT or no? In other words, I'm wondering if a jailbroken iPhone will be able to tether on ATT since I know it won't do it a non-jailbroken iPhone. On a related note, I hate AT&T and the crappy service they provide. Twenty dollars a month for unlimited messaging on top of thirty dollars a month for unlimited data = ridiculous.
  5. USB Headset Audio

Could I benefit, as far as the USB audio goes, from downloading and installing the VoodooHDA.kext driver instead of my current setup (see above).
  6. USB Headset Audio

Good day, I have a set of Logitech USB Headsets: Logitech USB Headset: Product ID: 0x0a0b Vendor ID: 0x046d (Logitech Inc.) Version: 10.13 Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec Manufacturer: Logitech Location ID: 0x3d100000 Current Available (mA): 500 Current Required (mA): 100 I have both a Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio (doesn't work) and Integrated Audio (ALC888). I haven't yet found a solution for the Sound Blaster so I'm using the 888 for my audio (I'm not sure if that actually matters for usb audio though. I'm not a hardware guy.) When I try to listen to audio through my headsets or use the microphone the audio output and input are choppy. I get a break in the audio about every five seconds. I have AppleAzaliaAudio.kext and AppleHDA.kext for my drivers. I also have an AppleUSBAudio.kext. I don't have an HDAEnabler.kext. I haven't modified any plists to include my headsets. My ALC888 works splendidly but I would really like a fix for the headsets. Does anyone know of a solution? I have an 2.80GHz Duo processor so I don't think that it would tax the processor enough to cause the skipping. Thanks, Brandon
  7. NVCAP for 9600M GS/GT

I happened to write a howto on getting your NVCAP today in the Hardware generic forum. Here it is: 1) Download the attached files at the bottom of this post (Note that one of them is .exe so you will need to execute it on Windows). a) HP Bootable Driver Maker.exe (Used to turn a usb drive into a bootable drive.) b) bootme.zip (Files needed to boot into DOS) c) NVCAP Maker.zip (Program with an input of your rom and output of your NVCAP) d) nvflash.exe.zip (Nvidia program to save rom) For some reason I couldn't attach nvflash but you can download it here: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Video-Tweak/nVFlash.shtml 2) Make the USB stick bootable. (Note that this will format the USB stick, so backup!) a) In Windows, execute the HP Bootable Drive Maker.exe. b) Follow the steps, selecting the bootme folder at the appropriate prompt. 3) Load nvflash.exe on the usb stick. 4) Reboot the computer and boot from the USB stick. 5) At the DOS prompt type "nvflash.exe -b myrom.rom" (or any filename with a .rom extension) 6) Boot to OSx86. 7) Launch NVCAP Maker and select the rom file you created and it will display your NVCAP. Your NVCAP will be a long string of mostly digits. bootme.zip NVCAP_Maker.zip HP_Bootable_Drive_Maker.exe
  8. Upgrading Kernels

The one I have is mach-kernel.voodoo.alpha3. Do you know anything about this one? I didn't really understand the whole macbook pro deal. Is that a bad thing?
  9. Need help enabling QE and CI for 7800gt

Just in case you, or anyone else who might read this post in the future, don't know how to obtain your NVCAP you can use this from another thread on this board: 1) Download the attached files at the bottom of this post (Note that two of them are .exe so you will need to execute them on Windows). a) HP Bootable Driver Maker.zip (Used to turn a usb drive into a bootable drive.) b) bootme.zip (Files needed to boot into DOS) c) NVCAP Maker.zip (Program with an input of your rom and output of your NVCAP) d) nvflash.zip (Nvidia program to save rom) For some reason I couldn't attach nvflash but you can download it here: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Video-Tweak/nVFlash.shtml 2) Make the USB stick bootable. Noone is going to learn to do things the real way if you keep giving them the crutch! I'm just kidding. I have a 9500GT so I wasn't so lucky to be able to select mine from that list. I didn't even think about the 7800 being there. I guess this way he'll be able to learn about modifying plists though. princeg, sorry for making you do extra work. HP_Bootable_Drive_Maker.exe.zip NVCAP_Maker_1.4.zip bootme.zip
  10. Upgrading Kernels

Hi everyone, I have what should be an easy question to answer. I want to upgrade to the Voodoo 9.6.0 from 9.5.0 to fix my clock issues and I was wondering what kind of problems I may run into? Obviously I will need to change the System.kext and the Seatbelt.kext but are there any other things that might get screwy after the upgrade? Thanks, Brandon
  11. Need help enabling QE and CI for 7800gt

Hey buddy, Here is a great tutorial on how to get your nvidia graphics card working with QE/CI. http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?...p;hl=generation Here are the relevant parts for your board from that link: I recommend using NVInjectGo.kext for the injector but for no particular reason. I'm not sure how well-versed you are in kext files but when it says to add your device ID you will get this from About This Mac > More Info > Graphics/Displays. You will use the last four characters of the device ID in there in the following format 0x####10de. In the kexts' Info.plist, you will put that string directly below the <key>IOPCIMatch</key> between the <string></string> tags. You can remove everything else that was between the <string> tags before you enter your device ID there.
  12. need help for intel (0x8086)

To find out exactly which card you have, you can go to your motherboard or laptop's website and their support section will have detailed specs on your computer. You will be able to find everything you need to adequately communicate on this forum there.
  13. iWork 09 and some of iLife 09 not working

BUMP I have the exact same problem. I'm guessing you do not have QE Support either. There was a fix for iWork 08 floating around on the forums a while back for people without QE. The fix was to add a key to the Defaults.plist in each application (keynote, numbers, pages). The key was SRFAcceleratedCanvas and it was supposed to be changed to <false/> but that fix doesn't work for iWork 09 in 10.5.7.
  14. iWork and iLife 09 Without QE/CI

I am able to watch DVDs without QE/CI. I downloaded an older version of VLC and I am able to watch DVDs with it. I downloaded both 0.8.0 and 0.8.2 and both of them allow DVD playback. I'm sure there are probably others as well but those are the two that I know work.
  15. 168, You'll probably get better results on this if you post it in the Tiger forum. This is the Leopard post-install forum. Brandon
