bajabronco
I have assembled all the parts for my Hackintosh, but got the wrong video card. I have a Asus P5LD2 motherboard, Intel Pentium D 805, 2gigs of RAM, and now need a video card. I bought a Radon 9600 pro, but dumb ass me, I found out it does not work with my mother board, I need to get a PCI Express one. Any reccomendations on what card would be best to get for a brand new hackintosh build? jackt283
Hmmm. I may not be experienced enough to comment, but this is where OSx86 is lacking. I have the X1600 and although QE and CI work, and 1600x1200 works, OpenGL doesn't really work (Cinema 4d crashs, SOF II doesn't launch, etc, etc). You also get tearing problems, as Im sure you've heard. It isn't looking too hopeful that these cards will ever be fully functional. So if you play a lot of games on Windows, get some mean ass ATI Xxx00 card with loads of vram and play games with awesome resolution and speed, and suffer the mouse tearing and lack of OpenGL in OS X. Either that or use the onboard GMA 950 - which works like a charm - your motherboard, however doesn't have the GMA 950...
