gazepo
Already tried with iPC 10.5.6 final, Kalyway 10.5.2, Leo4all v3 & 4.1, XxX X86 10.5.6 final v2. I always get the same result. "Still waiting for root device" The strange point of this story is that on the report under -v my chipset is recognized right. gazepo
IDE dvd drive and SATA hd. The good news is that I finally manage to boot with iPC. The bad news is that every time the installing freeze at "time rem: about 8 min" I will try all kernels one by one. If by the way know any solution for this, please let me know. Tnx again Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/169289-solvedinstallation-wont-start/#findComment-1171423 Share on other sites
MGJulius
Congrats on getting it to boot. Next time when you start the installation bring up the installer log (I think its cmd+L) too see where it's halting....also when it freezes have you tried moving the mouse. Sometimes the progress bar will stop moving but if you move the mouse everything will go fine. BTW how did you get the ipc disc to boot? gazepo
My friend!!!!!!!!! I have just finish installing the monster!! The only way that I could it, it was by selecting ONLY the Vodoo kernel. No fixes, No drivers, No nothing!! The progress bar, not only stop moving, but after a min or two it was giving Error. Now I will have to add the chipset because it cannot find root device... the known error! About making the iPC to boot...... I have disabled all on board devices in bios. Serial port, Midi port, Parallel, Sound and Network.
