Achromatic
So I'm wondering, and forgive me, this might seem like a simple question. I have 1066 memory in my system, supported and reported by BIOS. About This Mac says 800. 1) I presume the speed of the memory is not affected - it's still running at 1066, correct? Or? 2) I tried the SMBIOS-1066 kext as supplied with iDeneb 1.4, but to no avail. Obviously, if there's a simple way of having About display the correct value, I'd love that, but the answer to "1" is more important Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/167073-noob-memory-speed-in-about-this-mac/ Share on other sites

Just for a test, I increased bus frequency in bios, Geekbench also reported the increase and reflected that in the result. But usually I just run everything stock. You can use OSX86Tools to change the information in about this mac. Hope that helps. Beerkex'd
Throw away your SMBIOS injector kexts and use Chameleon 2.0 RC1 with /extra/smbios.plist: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1156867 If the information is correct in the System Profiler, it will also appear correctly in About This Mac. Don't just edit it with OSX86Tools, do it right, it's worth it. Master Chief
Can't this also be accomplished with some DSDT (EFI?) patching? And what if you have no (other) use for Chameleon 2? I sure don't. BTW: Chameleon 2 RC is still a "Release Candidate" and thus should not be used by everyone... or the use of RC has no meaning.
