Step 1: Get iAtkos v7

Step 2: Put iAtkos disk in computer and reboot

Step 3: Install iAtkos, selecting the appropriate drivers for your hardware. You also MUST select one of the Voodoo kernels, since you have an AMD machine.

Step 4: Reboot with fingers crossed

Step 5: Come back here and tell us about all the problems you have :P

Have installed iAtkos v7 and Kalyway 10.5.2 both with no luck. iAtkos gets kernal failure or iokit waiting to quiesce (spelling?) and kalyway 10.5.2 fails installation on post install script and never finishes installation. Any ideas on how to fix either setups?

FWIW, I've got an eMachines T3646 on which I've successfully installed iPC. This system has similar specs to yours (AMD Sempron, nVidia chipset, etc.), although some details differ. My motherboard is a WinFast, for instance. I'm not sure if the motherboard chipset is exactly the same. The main thing that just plain would not work for me was QE/CI video from the on-board video chipset (nVidia 6100). The display still works, but it won't perform optimally for games or other high-performance purposes, and video playback (DVDs, etc.) won't work. I ultimately added a separate nVidia card (a 7300, IIRC -- it's powered down now so I can't check) to get around this problem. It also took some experimenting with Ethernet and SATA drivers, IIRC, to find combinations that worked. The forcedeth (nVidia Ethernet) driver I ended up using causes the system to boot rather slowly (an extra minute or so compared to similar OS X systems), but other drivers for this chipset all hung or otherwise didn't work, and the drivers I've got work fine once the system's booted, so I just put up with the slow boot. I set this all up several months ago (maybe as much as a year), so there may be improvements. I plan to try installing 10.6.2 on this system before too long, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
