bbeepp Posted June 29, 2011 Share Posted June 29, 2011 As far as I know there is not such app. You have to modd your bios. http://www.techpowerup.com/rbe/ - download this and change fan settings there. Save your bios and load it with chameleon to check how it works. You don't have to flash your gfx card. smartie77 Posted June 30, 2011 Share Posted June 30, 2011 Same Problem change SMBIOS.plist so that you have a iMac 11,1. ( or try other models with ATI 4xx cards ) On 10.6.x AppleGraphicsPowermanagement.kext is responsible for Powermode cycling on ATI and NVIDIA cards. Problem : the kext looks for MacModel names and only activates GPU speedstepping for given Macs that feature such a card. In the Info.plist you find the valid Macs and its gpu settings. The iMac 11,1 has a Ati Mobility 4670. Try that, comes closest. for me on a 4650m it works,Fan is silent and only goes up when using flash or 3d games or long time videoediting.
