yannoo59
I know it' supposed to be very simple but I can't get the vmware config downloaded via bittorrent to work on vmware 5 in winXP. I get an error message with the hard drive image, when I start the config or go to the settings I get : "Failed to retrieve disk information for...\tiger-x86.vmdk. The sepcified image is not a virtual disk." I checked the content of the file, tried to make a new one and copy the parameters with a text editor but I always the same error. Is anyone having the same problem ? Is it supposed to work only with linux based vmware ? Thanks a lot for your help! yannoo59
Ok, I figured that the file size in the tiger-x86.vmdk was wrong, I changed it by dividing the img file size in bytes by 512 but now when Darwin starts, i get a lot of errors like this : "EBIOS read error : Seek failed Block : xxxxxx Sectors xxxx" Any idea? wilburx
Get the latest Winzip. Winrar and Powerarchiver seem to have problems with files > 2gb or 4gb. newtonian
What filesystem are you using? If you're using fat32 instead of ntfs it's possible that only the first 4 gigs of the 6 gig tiger-x86.img file got decompressed due to fat32's filesize limitation. yannoo59
I was using powerarchiver so I just installed the latest Winrar (I don't like winzip) and I'm uncompressing the bz2 file... I guess it should work now, tanks a lot! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/165-osx86-vmware-image-and-winxp/#findComment-1560 Share on other sites
