shavex
Well I'm trying to get the theme SoulGlass and I put it in a seperate folder called CustomThemes and i go to Personalize and Browse and it cant find any .theme files! How does it work? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/162224-show-your-windows-desktop/#findComment-1134128 Share on other sites
makwanad
I'm assuming you're on vista then yes? When you download a theme you need to save it to X:/Windows/Resources/Themes ("X" being the name of your windows drive) Once you've done that, right click your desktop and click personalize, the go to colour and appearance then near the bottom click on the classic appearance properties. Once there the themes you placed in the folder should be there but will still be called Windows Aero/Windows Vista Basic, you just gotta know what the theme looks like as you get a little preview box, click apply and your theme should change Anyway I did another one for today and here it is! shavex
Hey Nick14 what did you use to get the system monitor and stuff? The themes so far aren't working for me, I have Vista x64 could that be why? All I want is the taskbar from the theme SoulGlass (http://www.myvistathemes.com/skins-and-themes/soulglass-theme-free-download/) It came with a patcher and i ran it and then restarted and i followed your instructions (referring to makwanad) and it just seems to be reapplying the same Aero or Basic theme. makwanad
If you go to the theme there might be a .msstyles file (or windows visual style something or other), double click it to open the appearence and personalization windows then click apply. That should do it! 64bit shouldn't be a problem. It works fine in some areas and others it doesnt... look at this screen shot. It seems that the Advanced Appearance is taking place on all my programs but not my actual system theme. Do ya'll know how to fix this? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/162224-show-your-windows-desktop/#findComment-1136237 Share on other sites
