Strange error in a HP notebook

Hi guys!

First of all, sorry about my English... I am brazilian so my english is not that good.

Now we can go to the problem :)

I have this Portable Computer HP zv5000, in a few words it is an Pentium 4 (SSE2), 40GB, ATI Radeon 9000 Mobility, 512MB (128 for videocard).

I am trying to install Mac Os X 10.4.5 on it, in fact i have downloaded two diferent versions (Myz and another one) and both gives me the same "strange error", which you can see in this two photos:

Full picture: http://img283.imageshack.us/img283/7977/dsc007553wz.jpg

Error in detail: http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/3012/dsc007566ln.jpg

My method was the most simple one: I downloaded the .iso and burn it in a blank DVD. After this o booted and it simply gives me that error.

I thought it was because of the corrupted iso or something, then I downloaded another one, but happens the same.

I do not know what is happening, as I know my notebook is compatible, like this wiki says: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...Pavilion_zv5000

Can anyone help me with this?

I have searched all the forum, there is a guy that, with the same notebook, was sucessfull, but he does not inform what did he do.

Thanks and sorry by my English :)

Try pressing F8 at the Darwin boot text and then booting with the -V option so we can see what's going on behind the apple logo.

Cheers.

All right! I have done this

This is what happens: http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/1976/dsc007582yz.jpg

Or, in words, the message "Still waiting for root device" repeats, and repeats, and repeats...

Anyone can help me?

Tks

How can I do this? As I know, the patch would be installed in the instalations of the system, isn't it?

My Notebook is compatible, as you can see in the wiki page :graduated:

I know that my question is a kind of newbie's one, but i really want to use a mac os.

Tks for the help

I was seen on the wiki page and it says that I need a processor with SSE3 suppot, but I have a Pentium 4 2.8 just with SSE2 support, is this the problem?

I have heard people with SSE2 runing os x, why i can not?

I was reading in another foruns and they say that the partition needs to be primary.

In my case, I am using winXP SP2 in a 5gb partition and I let 35GB for Mac Os, which is blanked FAT32 right now.

Can be this my problem? Do I hve to format all disk and let it all for Mac?
