gnomes Posted April 24, 2006 Share Posted April 24, 2006 installed 10.4.4 upon reboot i get the apple screen for a good few minutes and then one of those "no" signs comes up in the middle. you know, a circle with a diagnol line through it as in "no smoking" but without the smoke. i dont understand? apparently this dvd image was supposed to be the patched one or something like that. Espamac Posted April 25, 2006 Share Posted April 25, 2006 I'm having the same problem, but in my case I always got "Error loading OS" from the beggining after sucessfully installing the system and rebooting. It's quite annoying, to say the least... In the system preferences menu, clicking the option "Startup disk" makes System Preferences to crash. My guess is it has to do with Darwin bootloader and that some files have to be modified, but I don't have the knowledge to do anything on that area (I actually don't know which files have to do with loading the OS or where they are...) Good luck, I'd let you know if I managed to solve anything.
