elenore19
I would be following the step by step instructions from this... http://www.ifixit.com/MacBook-Parts/MacBoo...Board/IF185-074 Yes, that is the board I would be replacing..the audio sound card thing in the macbook. This would cost me only about $100 which is a great decrease from the price that the shop wanted of $250. So it's definitely worth it. What I'm worried about is that I would be dealing with the delicate ribbon cables. I really don't want to ruin my computer more. Any suggestions? Any suggestions? pay someone who really knows what he's doing + how to handle delicate electronics (usually comes with a warranty too) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/158232-fixing-my-macbook-pro-by-myself/#findComment-1122957 Share on other sites
hecker
Well, if you don't have an electronics savvy friend, then you should really be careful and follow the fixit steps to the point. They usually write very detailed descriptions. Ribbon cables must indeed be handled very carefully. The cannot usually be simply pulled out of their sockets without lifting some kind of plastic lever. Anyway, like the user above said, it would be much better if you had assistance. Heck, even experienced techs sometimes screw those things up.
