if someone had a few minutes free, it would be awesome to turn this into a polished app that ran automatically with itunes, sat in the background, maybe handled the clipboard a little less visibly.

 

here is the script; it's got definite potential:

dumps lyrics to a text file, then use geektool to display that file on the desktop.

there is a widget that displays the song you are currently listening to's lyrics and saves them in your documents folder. check the apple site, its quite popular.
