graz11
hey guys, at this point, I have a dell latitude c510 laptop(1.06 mobile celeron). I tested it with cpu-z, and it's a SSE1. is it possible to upgrade this CPU to anything with a SSE2 processor? I'd really like to get OSx86 running on this thing... thanks. fireshark
What does CPU-Z say the Package is? Probably mPGA-478 = Socket 478. FC-PGA = Socket 370 = not ok. Socket 478, youll still want to check compatibility Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/15778-cpu-upgrade-for-my-latitude-c510/#findComment-101368 Share on other sites

kernalzero
just my 2 cents but i doubt you'll be able to do it, dell doesn't really produce any bios updates aimed at allowing you to upgrade the processors like third party manufs. I'm not saying it can't be don't because I don't know anything about that board but 9 times out of 10 they make their laptops so you can't really upgrade anything except the ram, the hard drive and the CD drive. video cards and cpus in those older models are pretty much as-is. but keep checking until someone says it absolutely can't be done. if it can maybe i'll check into doing that for my dell. goodluck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/15778-cpu-upgrade-for-my-latitude-c510/#findComment-102443 Share on other sites
