wiper05
Hi, this morning I've installed succesfully iDeneb 1.4 on my HP DV-5 1116EL, and everything works perfectly, except the boot. As I turn on the PC, an error pops up : boot0: error. I fixed that error by entering the terminal with the installation DVD, as a thread suggested. Now, when I power on, I get this message: boot0 :MBR boot0: done. I can't figure out how to solve this problem. I've started Leopard with the DVD inserted, used OSX86 Tools Utility but I can't install EFI, Darwin Loader and I can't run FDISK from there. HELP! Thanks in advance. wiper05
Please help,I0ve also tried to install Chameleon from MacOsX, but unsuccessfully.I can't even access to Vista Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/154900-boot-error/#findComment-1091122 Share on other sites
derekreid
So you were able to get into OS X to install Chameleon? If not, try hitting F8 with the install DVD in and entering rd=diskXsY (where X=disk #, Y=partition # of your OSX partition). If you get in, try to install the newest version of Chameleon and then setting your OS X partition to active. Setting partition active: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=22844 but use "disk" rather than "rdisk" if you are in the OS. wiper05
Nothing mate, I can't solve this. If I enter in the OS, and follow the restore procedure with "disk" instead of "rdisk" I get access denied. If i type rdisk eccetera in the dvd boot, i enter the OS and can't set a resolution but 1024x768. I think I'm gonna recover Vista with the recovery DVD's, and hope that to fix the MBR. (sorry for my english) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/154900-boot-error/#findComment-1091383 Share on other sites
derekreid
Try "sudo" before the fdisk command, it should give you permission. Using the DVD to boot is only supposed to be temporary to help you get in and fix the bootloader. wiper05
Good morning everyone. Yesterday evening I recovered Vista, and the boot finally worked. Once in Vista, I've installed BSC perfectly, but when I selected Mac Os X, nothing happened. So I've deleted my Mac partition and installed everything again. Now I have this problem : If i try to access the system with the DVD, an error message pops up telling me to restart the system. If I normally start the Pc, boot0:error pops up. Should I follow the "how to make a partiion active" guide? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/154900-boot-error/#findComment-1091902 Share on other sites

KeepGood
I had the same boot errors as yourself many times during the installation of OSX. I found that OSX likes to change the active partition alot. I used a windows 98 CD to boot and used the DOS fdisk to set my OSX partition as active. After that, everything went well.
