It just crossed my mind...

Th oSX installation on my laptop have these 2 main issues that annoys me: lack of wireless support (mini-PCI based) and lack of widescreen/QE/CI/etc (onBoard Radeon Xpress 200M). I was wondering if I could then ditch the wireless card to install a OSX supported miniPCI graphic card... I mean... a graphic card that is known for working... then I could use some USB or PCMCIA card for wifi... what do you think?

do you know of any good miniPCI Graphic card?

are there ANY (mini)PCI graphic cards on the market? you graphic card is AGP/PCIe. If such card exist it will be MUCH slower that your current ATI in VESA mode.

I'm pretty sure that there is no such animal. Even with PCI video cards, the VGA/DVI out is ON the card, ie, the output is generated and delivered at the card itself, not routed back to an onboard VGA port. I've certainly never seen a VGA port on the base of a laptop.

The only things I've seen on MiniPCI are wifi and modem cards. I had a very old Dell with a PCMCIA video accelerator, but that was eons ago, back in Pentium I days.
