korg1
Hi,i have audiophile 2496 and i want to make it work with iPC. Till now,i am using Envy24 driver ,which works ok for audio, but midi doesn't work. I guess i am a lucky guy, since i still have my old midiman 4x4 usb, which works fine with the official drivers from m-audio. What i want to ask is: Why the original drivers for delta2496 don't work with ipc? is there a way to patch the original driver in order to work? No, the driver is PPC only it needs to be re-written to support intel. M Audio wont do it because there is no need because actual macs don't have PCI slots anymore. There is a petition on the m audio forums you could add your +1's to that if you want official drivers, or just continue using the envy drivers and hope the guy who's writing them supports midi in the future. Dee S. 73
There is no midi driver for envy24/envy24ht chipset.....from esi/m-audio/st/anybody... We just have to wait for audiodriverwriter to write it... and that would not be trivial as Apple developer documentation is quite "foggish" on that side... peace DS Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/153427-m-audio-delta-audiophile-2496-drivers/#findComment-1090890 Share on other sites
berkan
The problem is that Apples internal(Not usb, firewire etc.) midi driver is closed and not open source driver. If we are to get the midi working some hacking will be needed! Im also running envy drivers and i dont care about the midi becourse i got the M-Audio midisport 2x2. Everything else work like charm included SPDIF! Dont forget to donate if you are using the Envy driver! See their homepage for info.
