cosmicrey
connect your sata hdd to jmicron sata controller. these are the two red colored sata ports on your mobo. purple onces are ich10r. set your hdd mode to IDE in BIOS if its set to raid or ahci. jsz
Your HDD should be connected to the Intel ICH10R Controller, and in BIOS it should be set for AHCI. Also, you may have to disable HT and set the number of active cores to 1 (2 worked for me but try 1 first). Depending on what Core i7 you have, it will have a different multiplier. i7 920: 20 i7 940: 22 i7 965: 24 Try booting with the options: -v busratio=(cpu multiplier) If that doesn't work, try: -x -v -f cpus=1 busratio=(cpu multiplier) If that doesn't work then I'm not sure what more to suggest. hefeglass
you will have to do cpus=1 until you have done the DSDT patch.. also, i think i had to boot up using -f for my first boot for some reason. i had better luck with the drive in first SATA slot...and since i was installing from a IDE dvd drive, i used IDE mode instead of AHCI for my install.. i used xxx_leo_10.5.6 and did the rest of the install like your post said. also, i found appleazalia.kext that gets the sound card working (stereo output only though).. everything is going good on this system so far with MSI x58 pro..xbench is 337 with disk test currently..
