declan
I am waiting for my new dual 500 GB hd's to arrive, i would to have windows running in there for games but using my nvidia not GMA950. Has anyone successfully done this. If i put both in i just get a blue screen before the login window. I would ideally like both cards in, GMA950 for os x on monitor and nvidia on tv for xp. Has anyone had success. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/15075-dual-gfx-cards/ Share on other sites
bigboss
If I'm not mistaken OS x, should be able to run with 2 graphics cards but I'm not sure if the drivers are optimised to take advantage of SLI.. I'd recommend grabbing 2 GeForce 7900GTs as they are cheap (only 299 a card) and perform better than a 7800gtx. However, your CPU will be a bottleneck for those graphics cards so I'd recommend upgrading to atleast a Pentium 920 but AMD is still the best choice for SLI and gaming. Ofcourse, if you get an AMD, you will have to buy a whole new system (mobo, ram - amd will only support ddr2 in the next gen etc.) and your SATA will not work with nForce 4 chipsets. Bottom Line: - Sticking with the Celeron will be like having a 4 cylinder engine running your Ferrari - AMD is better than Intel for SLI edit: Ohhh you meant having one GMA 950 and another non-integrated card... hmm, that should work too though some people have reported conflits when running an ATi card and a GMA 9x0 on the same board.
