Hey all,

I have an HP Pavilion Elite m9350f. The specifications on HP's site say my codec is an ALC888s. I have tried about a hundred different Kexts, to no avail. My codec dump says just ALC888. For headphone jack detection to work in Linux, snd-hda-intel needs the option "model=6stack-dell" for headphone jack detection to work. I have found a thread by THe KiNG describing how to patch AppleHDA and his codec graph looks EXACTLY LIKE MINE. His codec graph was for an Asus M50SV laptop. I don't want to get bogged down and read through the Intel HDA documentation to try to get this to work, and modifying AppleHDA.kext, that is a last case scenario... can anyone help me get this to work? I've tried ALCinject, HDAEnabler, all different versions of AppleHDA. I've also tried AzaliaAudio, I've tried 10.4.8 kexts, I feel like I've tried everything at this point. I'm very *nix-literate, so you don't need to tell me how to install Kexts, etc... I got all of that stuff covered. Just patiently hoping someone else will help me with my sound... I can provide more information if needed. Please help me! I've found 3 other people who were interested in using OS X on their m9350f machines, I hope you or one of them will find my solution... I wonder if it's something easy.

As of right now I can see my "Intel High Definition Audio" device (and inputs and outputs) in System Profiler, but no outputs or inputs in System Preferences. What gives? Please help. Thanks a bunch. :-D
