seamustry Posted January 28, 2009 Share Posted January 28, 2009 i was able to install mac os x on my dell d610 but am not able to use following: 1. wifi: i have intel 2915abg wifi built in 2. graphics/resolution: i have 1400x1050 screen but mac is only allowing 1024x768 and i dont think my ati radeon x300 is working either. can someone pls help me figure out how to make these components work? i used atkos to install the mac. If you don't know what these 'kext' things I'm talking about, I suggest you read up on it. Quick kext installation guide: Copy the kext to /System/Library/Extensions. Open Terminal and write "sudo chmod -R 755 /System/LibraryExtensions/[KEXTNAME].kext" without the quotes Enter your admin password Write "sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/[KEXTNAME].kext" Write "sudo rm -R /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache" Write "sudo rm -R /System/Library/Extensions.mkext" Reboot Replace [KEXTNAME] with the name of your kext, obviously. Or of course, you could use Kext Helper b7.app instead, which would be easier and safer if you don't quite know/understand what you're doing.
