Hi,

I just installed this version of mac os x because it was "up to date". But I get stuck at the white screen and the swirly round thing keeps on going. Can you guys please tell me what is going on or what can be done?

Btw, I installed Kalyway 5.10.2 and it was fine but i didnt know how to update so decided to give this a try.

My system info is:

Dell xps 420

Intel Chipset x38

q6600 2.4ghz quad core

4gb ram

750gb hd (3 primary partitions, 50gb for mac)

Guys please do some research before flooding the forum with basic questions. Using the search feature on this forum or tossing your question in Google will provide you will the majority of your answers.

Please use the boot-flag -v to boot into Verbose Mode as this will provide information during the boot process and if the system hangs you will see the last thing it was doing. Take that line and type it in Google like this without the quotes "osx86 your problem" & try the search function here. If you can not find the answer to you problem then post on the forum.

Badsubby has provided his system specs including chipset  Please everyone follow his lead.

You can also place this information in your "Signature". It will then apear on every post you make and save you some time. This can be done via My Controls:http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...rCP&CODE=00" target="_blank"> http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...rCP&CODE=00

Please follow the rules described in this thread (Most importantly keeping your signature to no more than 5 lines of normal text: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...p;hl=signatures

No problem man. I would post a link here that points to your new post.

installation of files went smoothly. It was after you press restart and before registration stuff. The white background with grey apple logo shows up and then you get the screen with the cursor and so on. So I am stuck at the white screen.

I agree. I installed xXx 10.5.6 this morning, and the Dell came up and was locked up. I restarted the Dell, and hit F8, then typed in -x (safe mode) and it came up. I'm still working on some issues, through. The built in ethernet works! Hurray!

Sorry if this is too simplistic a question but did you check the MD5 checksum and burn the DVD at the lowest speed?

Hi!

I was looking for the answer already on much place, but I did not find it because of this here ointments. My problem it, that put OSX XXX x86 10.5.6os his version. But after I put it up I set off the machine and the white again at a screen I do not get my share of him long. I tried out the successors:

F8 and then the next commands: -v after this coffee the screen and does nothing,

-x the white screen comes in in that manner though though after this and stops. There is some idea what I would be able to do how?You are possibly you would be able to tell it how I can get an answer to him where? I tried to make it already again but it did not help. My machine consists of the successors:

motherboard: Asrock 4CoreDual-SATA2 Bios: 2.10( I rehearsed already with the others and does this at all of them though)

video card: Ati 9200SE

HDD: 20gb here

I am having the same issue. I have installed iATKOS v5i. The verbose line is:

USING 10485 BUFFER HEADERS AND 4096 CLUSTERS IO BUFFER HEADERS

ECS GF7050VT-M mobo, Intel core 2 duo 2.6GHz, 2GB ram, 320 GB single partition SATA HD, IDE DVD-RAM

Open Google.com in a browser and type your error:

The first hit should answer your question.

I just tried install XXX_x86_10.5.6_Universal_Final, with no luck. (options used) http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/8503/xxx1056finalcf0.png I did have luck installing 10.4.11 with these options

http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/1820/10411rev2bd2.jpg All md5 checksums match. After installation i get the apple logo and an immediate restart loop. Tried verbose mode (-v) and safe mode (-x) but it does the same thing.

SPECS: hp DV1010US Laptop

Intel Celeron M 1.4mhz(SSE2) Intel 855 chipset, Generic ac97 audio, RTL8139 NIC, broadcom 4306 wireless, 100 gb IDE HD

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Can someone let me know if there are any kernels that support processors that only have SSE2.
