AllanJacques
The machine: Intel DP35DP, core2quad q6600, geforce 8600 gt, 4gig ram ddr2-800 and a cheap realtek for ethernet... as far as I can see, this system should be 100% compatible right? So, why on the earth this damm thing hangs at the whit screen with the apple logo? I am using iDeneb but have already tried all the others... I've tried all the kernels, even though vannila should work right? I've tried smbioses, I've tried patches and nothing... Please, help me or I swear I will start eating all the apples I can just to hurt them!!! And I really mean it! Synaesthesia
When you boot, type in -v (verbose mode) and tell us what it says before it hangs. Also try booting with -v -x (safe mode) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/146761-should-be-100-but/#findComment-1040440 Share on other sites
AllanJacques
whenever I try to boot using -x, I just get to install system again... seems that using -x makes it boot from the dvd and install it again... Another issue is that without iDeneb dvd on tray it doesnt boot, it says that "os was not found" or something like that. gielie
Did you adjust your bios setting that your first boot device is the HD where your OsX is installed on? If you installed it correct it should at least boot into OsX. You can also hit F8 key at startup and select the boot device. feriso
Are you installling the vanilla one on a sata drive? If so is controller in the BIOS set to AHCI? Mine froze on the apple screen if I didn't do this with a "Waiting for root device error" (you'll see it if you boot with -v not -x) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/146761-should-be-100-but/#findComment-1040566 Share on other sites
gielie
I have my HD set to ide instead of ahci, on ahci nothing works on my system. So this is system depended. feriso
I have my HD set to ide instead of ahci, on ahci nothing works on my system. So this is system depended. Â Not when using the vanilla retail install as it requires the drives to be ahci (like a real mac does) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/146761-should-be-100-but/#findComment-1040887 Share on other sites
AllanJacques
Well, I tried with driver settings to ide, guess I will change it to ahci to test it... Any fixes/bios/patches recommended to make it work? Thanks again and as soon as I get home I will try again using ahci... AllanJacques
So, news from my hackintosh... I did it!!!! Enableing Ahci and using iAtkos made it work! The only thing that is kinda boring is that in order to start the system I must use -x or it wont boot... Anyway, I guess it is just a matter of customizing it more to get a perfect install! My next challenge is to make a sis chipset work! May god bless me!
