SLV
So, that's my second topic on this forum. I need help. Well. I used manual posted somewhere on this forum about installing macosx retail on Asus P5Q. Installation was successful, everything worked, but Sleep Mode. Than, i installed update to mac os 10.5.5 and after this to 10.5.6. Somewhere between this to installations poweroff and reboot started working bad. For example: reboot look like black screen hanging for a while (about 10-15 seconds) and poweroff lookED like text on black screen telling that CPU halted. And that's all. After searching in internet i found some pathes solving this issue. Installed: poweroff bugfix and openhaltrestart.kext. That didn'd help, more - now I don't see text on the black screen while powering off. Does anyone know what to do? Beerkex'd
I lost shutdown and sleep as well in 10.5.6. OpenHaltRestart doesn't work, older ACPI/APIC kexts don't work, I've tried different kernels, different bootloaders, different ways to inject SMBIOS info, I've found fixes to almost every error message during bootup, updated my BIOS, cleared the CMOS, EFI'd my video card and network, patched my DSDT, read thousands of posts... and still no shutdown or sleep. Sleep and shutdown was working fine on 10.5.5. Once PPF3 for iPC comes out I'm going to reinstall. /EDIT Sleep and Shutdown fixed with Slice's latest IOPCIFamily.kext: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=117029 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/145235-poweroff-reboot-and-sleep-problems/#findComment-1034269 Share on other sites
