  1. Hi everyone. I installed Mavericks on Asus P8Z77-LX MB and got the message on the attached photo. How did I install? 1. Method from applelife, where (shortly) I restore InstallESD.dmg/BaseSystem.dmg to a flash drive (in my case it was a 10GB partition on the same HDD where ML was installed), copy OS X Install ESD/Packages to System/Installation, put mach_kernel to the root of the flash drive, install Clover, put FakeSMC etc to /EFI/Clover/kexts/10.9, enable InjectKexts and then the installer should boot and make its work. But it didn't boot. The message was the same. I used the latest FakeSMC + VoodooHDA and lnx2mac driver for ethernet (they both are the latest too). 2. If the first attempt failed, I formatted the drive and restored one of the pre-installed systems without hackintosh kexts. And after that I did the same thing with Clover, kexts etc. And The message is in the attach. Anyway, I have 10.8.5 installed and it's working. I tried to delete kexts, use other versions, remove DSDT. Everytime I fixed permissions and rebuilt cache. My computer config is in the signature. Clover version is 2236. I installed it from 10.8.5 to the Mavericks drive (resulted in a blue clover screen without any pictures or themes, but working; Mavericks didn't boot) and now it's installed on the ML drive. Thanks in advance.
  2. Hi everyone! I've got a problem and have no idea how to fix it and even what is causing it. The problem is that my PC with ML 10.8.4 can freeze at any moment and even the Reset button makes it shutdown (not restart) after 3-4 secs. When not frozen, the button works as it should. So, what exactly happens? For example, I'm browsing some site with Chrome, move cursor and it doesn't move. When I press the Reset button, the computer thinks for about 3-4 seconds and shuts down. If I turn it on again, everything works fine. These freezes can happen once a day or more, but can pass by. They don't depend on the program I'm using. I can launch nothing, wait for some hours and get a freeze. Now, something about my configuration. MB: Asus P8Z77-V LX Graphics: Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 670 2GB RAM: Hynix 4 x 4GB OS: ML 10.8.4 original Bootloader: Clover v1958. DSDT: Original + general fixes. SSDT: Don't use it. Mac Profile: iMac12,2 with processor states changed to MacPro3,1's. AGPM: edited, profile for my video card added. Logs: I don't see any errors there. Usually the last records before the freeze are something like: 19.08.13 18:11:19,723 com.apple.backupd[4990]: Created new backup: 2013-08-19-181119 19.08.13 18:11:20,320 com.apple.backupd[4990]: Could not back up OS X Recovery to /Volumes/Data/Backups.backupdb: Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=-69737 "Unable to mount recovery partition" UserInfo=0x7fe2f9e7ef50 {NSLocalizedDescription=Unable to mount recovery partition} 19.08.13 18:11:23,485 com.apple.backupd[4990]: Starting post-backup thinning 19.08.13 18:11:23,485 com.apple.backupd[4990]: No post-back up thinning needed: no expired backups exist 19.08.13 18:11:23,590 com.apple.backupd[4990]: Backup completed successfully. or 19.08.13 18:59:51,925 coreservicesd[67]: SendFlattenedData, got error #268435460 (ipc/send) timed out from ::mach_msg(), sending notification kLSNotifyApplicationDeath to notificationID=120 19.08.13 18:59:51,925 coreservicesd[67]: SendFlattenedData, got error #268435460 (ipc/send) timed out from ::mach_msg(), sending notification kLSNotifyApplicationDeath to notificationID=183 19.08.13 18:59:51,929 coreservicesd[67]: SendFlattenedData, got error #268435460 (ipc/send) timed out from ::mach_msg(), sending notification kLSNotifyApplicationDeath to notificationID=139 19.08.13 18:59:51,929 coreservicesd[67]: SendFlattenedData, got error #268435460 (ipc/send) timed out from ::mach_msg(), sending notification kLSNotifyApplicationDeath to notificationID=100 19.08.13 18:59:51,929 coreservicesd[67]: SendFlattenedData, got error #268435460 (ipc/send) timed out from ::mach_msg(), sending notification kLSNotifyApplicationDeath to notificationID=145 19.08.13 18:59:51,930 coreservicesd[67]: SendFlattenedData, got error #268435460 (ipc/send) timed out from ::mach_msg(), sending notification kLSNotifyApplicationDeath to notificationID=100 If someone knows what can cause the lags, please tell me, cause I got totally tired of it. 3. Got it work. What I've done? Downloaded 10.8.2 update package from here: http://www.insanelym...nvidia-drivers/, extracted everything with NVDA, GeForce, IOGraphics, IOVideo, IntelHD in names, intalled it with Kext Wizard, repaired permissions with it, updated cache and installed photoshop once again. And it works.
  4. I haven't. Graphics are native with <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>device-properties</key> <string></string> With GraphicsEnabler=No i had exactly the same. Do i have to install? Where can i find them? Nvidia.com says i can choose everything except MacOSX for nvidia 600 series. And as for CUDA - my video card (GTX 670) is not in supported devices list.

Photoshop was launched at 0:22 and no messages about it at this time.
  6. In console I see nothing helpful at all. No errors at least if I search by "adobe" keyword.
  7. Hi everyone. I've installed ML 10.8.2, made it work almost perfectly but I can't use photoshop cs6. Why? Because it crashes my system or makes it completely hang. Usually it does harm at Loading preferences, loading plugins, sometimes on getting memory capacity. I tried to delete fonts in /library/fonts and i could see the window of photoshop but 5 sec later it hung up my system and i had to reboot. And after that I got a "restart you computer manually" message after entering my user account password. Also i found out that my system hangs if i launch /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Adobe Photoshop CS6.app/Contents/MacOS/sniffer_gpu. I think it's something with H/W acceleration/OpenGL/OpenCL but I really don't know what it exactly is. My system: Asus P8Z77-V LX, 16GB ram, Nvidia GTX670. I hope someone helps me to solve this problem. Thanks in advance.
  8. Hi, everyone! I've got such a problem. For example, I have 2 HDDs (in fact 4, but that doesn't affect anything). The first one has Snow Leopard 10.6.6 (we'll call it SL_1 and the HDD will be SL_1_HDD) installed one day over a Leopard. It's booted via Chameleon RC3, has own /Extra and works perfectly. The second HDD also has Snow Leopard 10.6.6 (SL_2, the HDD is SL_2_HDD) (freshly updated from 10.6.0). It's been installed from SL_1, from a disk image. The bootloader for this new system is Chameleon RC4. /Extra was copied from SL_1, also I copied from there IOATAFamily, IONetworkingFamily and JmictronATA.kext. The problem is: If I select SL_1_HDD as boot disk, I get both systems completely working. But if I select SL_2_HDD as boot disk, I get internet and DVD-ROM not working. So the question is: how does Chameleon work? Where does it take the kexts from? Can I avoid copying all kexts from SL_1 to SL_2? I really don't want to do so cause there's a lot of trash there. So, what should I do?
  9. Necronaut You can try it at your own risk, but i'm almost sure it won't work. And if you will, find something working with HFS+ volumes (read/write) in order to roll your kext back if the experiment fails. Or try to work with single mode (-s boot flag) Otherwise you'll have to restore the whole system. (cause kernel panic is very possible) And if you want to try 10.6.4 kexts versions or before, try to unpack the combo update found at apple.com with Pacifist and simply extract the needed kext from it. Combo Update to version 10.6.4 Combo Update to version 10.6.2
  10. 1. Try: Using diskutil see what the UUID of a volume is. With the disk connected run this: diskutil info /Volumes/[name] Look for the UUID in the output and copy it to the clipboard. Now that you have a UUID for the volume you should create your fstab file. Save something like the following in a new file called /etc/fstab: # Identifier, mount point, fs type, options, dump order, check order UUID=YOUR_DISK_UUID none hfs rw,noauto 0 0 2. And what's wrong with it? I have the same thing both for Windows and Mac. Haven't even thought it's wrong.
  11. Updating Leopard to Snow Leopard makes using the old kexts impossible (in most cases). So you need to learn what chip exactly you have and look for drivers for it. If it was active for a while, then you can try repairing the permissions, but i don't know if this will work. Also you can try to take kext from Leopard (if you have Time Machine or something like that) and replace the existing with it. (if you don't have Time Machine, try to find you kext somewhere), but this method probably won't work and may even cause a kernel panic, so try it at your risk. (or find some LiveDVD working with HFS+ volumes)
  12. Migration question

I think it depends on how customized your hackintosh is. If it is a retail version with only kexts modified, what prevents you from copying original mac kexts somewhere, restoring the full system from time machine and then copying original kexts instead of the restored? And if /extra exists, then it should be deleted of course. If you have non-retail, then you'd better copy your /users and /applications folders to macbook and be happy. But frankly speaking i don't think that restoring system from a computer with absolutely different configuration to macbook is a good idea.
  13. Gringo Vermelho Ha, that's genius!) Haven't even thought about this way. quattrofx Thanks a lot for the info, but i still don't understand what exactly i should change in smbios.plist. For now it even doesn't exist, but if i get some explanations of what each string means, what strings must be and what must be written as a value, i'll be able to customize it correctly.
  14. Me and 10.6.5=Fail

The first thing coming to my head is that you have an AMD processor, but MacOS supports only INTEL by default. Look here. Maybe that will help? And by the way installing updates on non-retail versions always gives problems. So you'd better look for and original DVD and install it as written in my link.
  15. Hi, everyone. I have ASUS P5Q3 mobo and SL 10.6.5 installed and working fine on it. Recently i wanted to update drivers for NVIDIA 8800GT with the help of the installer from here. But it says my system is incompatible for the card, so it doesn't want to be installed. Unpacking and quick looking through the installer script showed me, that the package can be installed on MacPro3,1 and higher. But System profiler shows my model as MacPro2,1. That's why i want to change it. The problem is that i don't know where it can be changed. Searching in google gave some ways of solutions, but none of them works for me. The first was editing the plist in SmbiosResolver.kext. That had no effect. And model written there was MacBookPro3,1. Now for some reasons i have a trackpad menu in SysPref. (would be great to remove it) And i deleted the resolver cause PC_EFI 10.6.4 doesn't require it. The second was editing com.apple.boot.plist, but it hadn't worked even for the author of the method. The third was playing with DSDT, but i don't understand how it can affect the model name and what patches i should apply. The fourth was editing '/System/Library/SystemProfiler/SPPlatformReporter.spreporter/Contents/Resources/SPMachineTypes.plist', but the file doesn't exist so i have nothing to edit. And the last i found was editing /extra/smbios.plist but again i didn't understand what it should look like for my mobo. What device serial numbers i must edit and where can they be taken from? And if i just put the chameleon's plist, i get a kernel panic. So if anyone knows how to change the model of Mac, please give me an advice or link to the solution.
