brockwitting
When I go to install OS X on my laptop (Turion 64 ml-32, Radeon Xpress 200m, 1gb, 80gb drive) install stops on ApplePS2Trackpad: Synaptics Touchpad v6.2, then it says on the next line Still waiting for root device. Wolfmight
I get the same problem. (I've got a laptop with very similare specs) OSX did install fine in VMWare on my Desktop PC, but I never tried to do it native on it yet. Maybe laptops have lower support? My Desktop PC Specs: AMD Sempron64 1.6ghz 1gb DDR ram 256mb Nvidia 7800GT 500GB hd Gigabyte mobo btw, do you have an HP laptop? could be their motherboard Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14443-install-stops-on-appleps2trackpad/#findComment-95091 Share on other sites
brockwitting
Funny u mention VMware, because I got OS X on my lappy wth VMware, but I want it to BOOt, not run in windows. is there a way to make VMWare install it to a bootable partition? I think this would solve our problems. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14443-install-stops-on-appleps2trackpad/#findComment-99731 Share on other sites
GateKeeper
Try Myzars PPF4 patch. I have a friend who patched with this and it allowed his HP boot, past the "Still waiting for root device" error. [EDIT]The PPF4 patch also seems to allow 10.4.6[/EDIT] Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14443-install-stops-on-appleps2trackpad/#findComment-99760 Share on other sites
errandwolfe
OK, could someone please help me out here. Have heard very good things about the Myzar PPf4 patch especially using it with non-Intel (AMD, VIA) hardware. I tried patching the ISO I had, but I think it may be the incorrect ISO for this PPF. Could someone please provide the name of the ISO that this PPF is for. If someone wants to be really nice and PM the link to the torrent (TPB or Demon) I would really appreciate it. errandwolfe
Please ignore prior post, figured out my mistake. Had a Bush moment, and was using the JaS patch not the Myzar.
